SNA 2006 Annual Meeting Reviews 2005, elects new Board

Thursday, March 9 – About 65 neighbors and guests from government filled the Community Room at Rochambeau Library on Thursday March 9 for Summit Neighborhood Association’s 2006 Annual Meeting. Trees and sidewalks received a lot of attention with City Forester Doug Still on hand and fresh news that some sidewalks in Summit will be repaired this summer was welcomed. (more…)

Neighbors Champion Pocket Park on Morris

The Parks Department agreed to several immediate improvements to the little park on Morris Avenue at a meeting on March 8 at the home of Megan Gardner and Tim Merrish. The City will wait for more advice from a meeting of residents planned for April on a number of additional changes to be made this year Summit Neighborhood Association will also spread the word and stands ready to help as requested. Historic Preservation Faces Threat

The historic tax credit program that has been so instrumental in both preserving Providence’s historic buildings and generating 100’s of millions of dollars of economic development is under threat of repeal.

Help wanted with Citizens Bank lot upgrades

Are you interested in improving the parking lot of the Citizens Bank on Hope Street?

If so, please join us!

What: An informal, initial meeting of neighbors to discuss potential parking lot improvements (traffic flow, security, landscaping, etc.) to suggest to Citizens. It has come to our attention that Citizens is considering upgrading the parking lot, so this is the perfect time to give our input!
