The SNA has petitioned the Board of Parks Commissioners to name the small park at the corner of Summit Avenue and Ninth Street after the late Kerry Kohring. We’ve done so with letters of support from the Summit Community Garden group, the Friends of the Park, and our local elected officials. For those who didn’t know Kerry from his wonderful volunteer work and leadership around the community, a memoriam is here: https://www.sna.providence.ri.us/our-friend-kerry-kohring/

There will be a public meeting of the Board of Parks Commissioners to consider the proposal this coming Monday, March 19, 8:15-9:15am, at the Boathouse (Parks Dept. headquarters) in Roger Williams Park at 1000 Elmwood Avenue.

UPDATE 3/19/18: We’re pleased to announce the Board of Parks Commissioners has unanimously approved the naming of the park to Kerry Kohring Park! Stay tuned for a spring/summer dedication!
