Miriam and Summit: A Neighborhood Survey
In the May 2004 issue of the
Summit News
we included a survey on neighborhood opinion of Miriam Hospital
and their plans for expansion.
The
survey asks neighbors what constraints,
if any, should exist to limit hospital growth. It asks residents
to indicate their concern and what impact, negative or positive,
the hospital has now, and what they anticipate the effect will be
of the proposed construction.
More people responded to the survey than have attended any of the public
meetings that have been held regarding this issue, and the sentiment
was overwhelmingly one of concern and a desire for stronger limits on
hospital growth. Significantly, almost half of the respondents included
hand-written comments.
The results were
summarized and presented at a public
meeting hosted by SNA on May 24th at Hillside Health Center.
