Summit Neighborhood, Providence, Rhode Island

Summit Neighborhood is located in the northern half of the Third Ward, on Providence's East Side. The neighborhood's core area is bounded roughly by Rochambeau Avenue to the south, North Main Street to the west, the Pawtucket line to the north and Lorimer Avenue to the east.

What is Summit like? Providence's website includes a profile of our neighborhood. In 1998, the Regional Review published a Letter From...Providence, Rhode Island, written by a Summit resident.

The Summit Neighborhood Association

The Summit Neighborhood Association is a non-profit, grassroots organization devoted to improving the quality of life of residents of Summit Neighborhood.

Founded in 1985, the Association works with government, business and private organizations to promote the neighborhood's interests. The SNA publishes the Summit News, distributed to more than 4000 households in Summit and the surrounding area. The SNA's Annual Meeting focuses on current issues affecting the neighborhood and presents our local city and state representatives in a question and answer format. During election years, the SNA sponsors an Election Forum featuring candidate debates and discussion of ballot issues. Monthly board meetings are open to the public, contact the Association for the time and place of the next meeting.

The SNA is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation, so your donations to the Association are tax deductable.

The sna.providence.ri.us web site is written and maintained by hardworking volunteers. The site was designed by John Bazik using the wonderful Website Meta Language, an html preprocessor that appeals to geeky computer types.
